Digital Information Display

Mon Mar 14, 2016 5:33 pm

Hi,

We would like to setup a digital dismal in our schools reception area to show things like videos of school activities, a montage of photos of the schools facilities or activities such as residential trips, timetables, notices etc.

We have a RPi 2, WiFi adaptor, 32 inch TV, cables etc.

I am looking for ideas on what software to use to simplify showing things on the display. I will be tasking a group of Y6 primary students with the reaponsibility of switching it on everyday and organising what is displayed.

I had heard of minimal Kiosk Browser and wondered about it as a solution?

The kids need to access the Pi remotely (I know how to do this) and then either load media from a memory stick or pick up from the schools server.

Thanks Dirk,
This looks just the ticket.
I remember reading about Pi Presents some time ago, probably in response to a post I put up a while back?
