Compute Module Quad Core

Mon Mar 14, 2016 7:42 am

Hello everyone
.
We are developing an electronic boards that uses your compute module as a processor core engine. Nowadays they works in a perfect way because by SPI they allow me to communicate whit my other cards very fast for data
transmission.

But one of the worst is that I need to generate a bitmap in a very fast way (I use Qt embedded libraries to do it) and I need more CPU power.

Please is it possible to develop a new Compute Module 2 based on Quad Core ARM v7?????

It is very important for our development, and I can assure you that we will use a lot of this cards.

Thanks for your attention

In the various release statements, blogs etcetera regarding the RPi 3B release it was stated a CM2 will not be released, however they plan to release a CM3 in 2016, obviously you missed this news ??

While the Raspberry Pi Foundation had originally intended to release a compute module based on the Pi 2 that could run Windows IoT Core, Upton said demand for the main model B Pi 2 board was so strong there wasn't enough stock to make it happen. The foundation now plans to instead launch a compute module based on the Pi 3 (CM3) "in the next few months".

Prototypes already exist and are under test, so they are definitely on the way.
