rpi-update reports SSL invalid

Just tried rpi-update and got the below notification.

0curl: (60) SSL certificate problem: certificate is not yet valid

It isn't recommended to run rpi-update anyway and unnecessary. All stable updates will come through apt-get. Everything in rpi-update isn't stable and could break your system.

rpi-update stopped my RPF "official" touchscreen from working today. Don't run it unless you understand what it does, you understand how to undo the damage it could do and you have a backup of your SDCard in case it won't boot.
