Pi3 microSD holder

Fri Mar 11, 2016 8:30 am

Dear Forum members,
Maybe there is no wrong with the holder but the functionality is a down step from the pi2. To remove the microSD card on the pi2, you just pushed the card a little and it came out, but on the pi3 it does not. That´s a problem when using a case like the FLIRC. You cannot just grab the card and pull it out. Is it only my pi3 that has this "non-function"?

the push release MicroSD socket has been replaced with a friction one because the Pi2 version broke / and or got ejected too easily
friction is the new way ...

if you use a small bit of tape on the Micro sdcard you can use that as a aid to pulling out
new case have better access also

My RP3 in the Flirc case idles at 37 degrees. I can easily remove the SD card. Use a utility knife to remove some of the plastic base. It only takes about five minutes and it isn't noticeable.
