YA sound problem

Wed Aug 08, 2012 1:13 pm

Hi,
As you can guess I'm having sound problems.

I'm using latest Raspberian image. I've updated Firmware with rpi-update. Also I've updated all packages via "apt-get update && apt-get upgrade".

Things I've tested so far:

1. hello_audio produces sound on both interfaces (hdmi&lockal). I think that means that hardware is ok.
2. omxplayer plays mp3&wav on local. Changing options with "amixer cset numid=3 2". Command line option (-o hdmi) produces sound over hdni.
3. Vlc(or cvlc) plays correctly wav files according to amixer options. Playing mp3s produces:
" cvlc /home/pi/Desktop/\(1996\)\ The\ Forgotten\ Tales/*
VLC media player 2.0.2 Twoflower (revision 2.0.1-453-g40d9fef)
[0x121ba38] dummy interface: using the dummy interface module...
[0x11d93e0] alsa audio output error: cannot commit hardware parameters: Неправилен аргумент
[0x11d93e0] oss audio output error: cannot open audio device (/dev/dsp)
[0x11d93e0] main audio output error: no suitable audio output module
[0x11adb30] main decoder error: failed to create audio output"
The cyrillic part should be something like "invalid/wrong argument).

Am I doing something wrong, or this are software bugs?
What media players are you using?
