Migrate from Raspberry PI2 to PI3

I've just received the Raspberry PI3.
To test ,I've moved the SD with Debian and all setting done on the RPI2 on the RPI3 but nothing happen and just the red led is on.
At this point I suppose that I can't use the same card on both PI version , and sound logic, but is there any way to transfer all the configurations,drives ,setting done Debian for the RPI2 on the new SD that I'll create for RPI3 ?
Does exist also a way to understand all drives ,setting , configuration and applications that are present on my actual Debian for RPI2 , so that I can easly search , install and apply the same on the new Debian for RPI3 ?

Debian are you sure ? Did you mean Raspbian Jessie or Debian Wheezy ? ?

Both Debian & Raspbian Wheezy are end of life...

.........since September 2015 Raspbian Jessie is the recommended Operating System and the latest release fully supports the RPi 3B: https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian

Is there any way to upgrade Wheezy to Jessie using "dist-upgrade" or do I've to reinstall Jessie from scratch
and then recustomise ?

You can upgrade Raspbian Wheezy to Raspbian Jessie

I have never installed Debian Wheezy on a RPi 2B, so not aware of the procedure.

You have to update /etc/apt/sources.list and all files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d that have "wheezy" in them. Delete (or rename to .list~) the collabra.list, update raspi.list to

step 1 : put a fresh raspbian in rpi-2

step 2 : do a kernel update with rpi-update

step 3: backup the disk image

In most cases (including this one), yes.

rpi-update should only be used when debugging a specific problem at the request of someone from the RPF, or when there is a known problem with a release and the fixed version is not in the main repository yet. If any instructions say to use it - check the date they were published. If more than 2-3 weeks old they are probably out of date.

You will need to use apt-get to upgrade anything else, but it may revert your kernel and bootcode to an earlier version as apt doesn't know what rpi-update has done.

After a while, the versions that rpi-update installed will be come available, or even superseded by the apt-get version and you will be up to date again.

It's a one shot kernel replacement. It gets you on the leading edge of the kernel development. Running apt-get after running rpi-update does no harm.

Running rpi-update should only be done when someone who understands your specific problem tells you to run it (possibly as a test of their kernel/firmware changes) to fix something that's broken. Running it daily is dangerous and may leave your system unbootable.
