Updating Kodi to Jarvis 16

Mon Mar 07, 2016 12:35 pm

Hi,

Sorry guys, I am a noob in Linux. I got the Raspberry with openelec (v6.03) and I al searching since days how to update 15.2 to Kodi 16 (Jarvis).

I tried Putty (SSH) and searched for clues within Openelec/Kodi (maintenance tool etc), Youtube instructions... but without any positive outcome.

When I try to enter the command
apt-get update

I get a message something like:
"openelec is protected.and cannot be updated and so on...."

Is there a way for me?

thank you for your time,

greetings,
mIKe

If all else fails, you could start from scratch by downloading the latest official OpenELEC disk image from their website...

Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.
