What am I doing wrong ?

Thu Mar 03, 2016 5:19 pm

Hi

My wife wants to watch her 2 craft channels on the TV rather than on the PC as she does up till now
( its too cold in the computer room )

I set up a Pi 2 with Rasbian from the noobs disk and all seemed fine
The internet works , she can watch videos on you tube every thing is great except she cant watch her
2 craft channels , which is all she really wanted it for.

We get errors when we try to access them with the Pi , so I assumed they were haviong problems with their sites
so to check I tried on both my wondows PC and also on hers and both show the craft channels fine ,
Its only on the Pi they dont work

with www.thecraftchannel.tv/watch-live we get
Error loading Player : no playable sources found

and with https://hochanda.com it says
500 Internal Server Error there is a problem with the resource you are looking for and it cannot be played

The problem must be at our end because its working fine on the windows PCs

What have we done wrong and how can we fix it ?
I hope some one can help so I can stop her nagging me

Cheers
Don

I get the same error from firefox running on a Linux x86 box under Debian Jessie. It probably involves not having flash or some other video support available.

I just went to the link and had a look, Firefox media info says it's an "application/x-shockwave-flash" file.

Code: Select all

https://dbxm993i42r09.cloudfront.net/jw7/jwplayer.flash.swf
That's why it won't play.

Well thanks for pointing that out

and just to prove what a noob I am , I assume there is no way to play shockwave flash
files on a Pi ?

Adobe Flash is not natively supported.

Actually those sites work on an Android Tablet as they are streamed in HTML5 Video Format.
