NOOBS needs more OSes

Thu Mar 03, 2016 11:28 am

Or a script that can auto detect other OSes(OSes that are not in the standard NOOBS image) that are on the sd card(puppy, kali pi port,ETC,ETC).

AFAIK it's up to 3rd parties to provide images. Only Raspbian is included in Noobs, others can be downloaded on demand when connected through (wired) ethernet

TBH I find it just as easy to install individual images.
While Noobs may be helpful, it also introduces potential hurdles and problems later on.

You can add other OSes to NOOBS yourself: https://github.com/raspberrypi/noobs

Or you are fee to roll your own NOOBS variant ;)

Well if you just post about subjects which have been well covered and regurgited, it is not surprising the Volunteer Responders may not feel it is worth responding.

Research, Research, Research should happen prior to posting

Yup, it's up to the distro maintainers to get in touch and then prepare the releases.

No, because a lot of people would put all kinds of stuff in there that have nothing to do with NOOBS.
Mods would have to move even more topics to the correct section then they do now.

If you had researched you would have found that years ago an ARM Port of FreeDOS was compiled and abandoned, but he-ho it is easier to post crap comments...

I buy from RS as they use ParcelForce 24 and if I am not home they leave parcel for collection at local Post Office :D

My PiHut one arrived on Tuesday. It was ordered before 7:30AM on Monday though, I just took the standard shipping £2.50.

Additional NOOBS OSes don't just appear on demand. You'll have to add them yourself.
Pi2B Mini-PC/Media Centre: ARM=1GHz (+3), Core=500MHz, v3d=500MHz, h264=333MHz, RAM=DDR2-1200 (+6/+4/+4+schmoo). Sandisk Ultra HC-I 32GB microSD card on '50=100' OCed slot (42MB/s read) running Raspbian/KODI16, Seagate 3.5" 1.5TB HDD mass storage.

Order confirmation at 7:09, shipped 10:32. Normally I would expect it to take 1 or 2 days, but in this case the Mail must have used a slower mode of transport
