Venezuela - Just got my Raspberry PI

Mon Aug 06, 2012 3:30 pm

I had a long detailed post but my browser messed it up... so this is a quick run through of my wait for RPI, these are the emails I received:

- May 29th: Registered on Farnell
- June 21th: Received Email for preorder
- June 22th: Confirmation of order
- July 19th: Your order has been received
- July 19th: Invoice
- July 24th: Update on your Raspberry PI (you will receive it on the week of August 6th)
- August 5th: Received my Raspberry PI (on a Sunday).

A few of notes:
- I can't remember when it was shipped (according to the package).
- It reached Venezuelan's customs autorithies on August 1st (it is stamped)
- It was received by the security guard at the entrance of my housing complex. Because of the way our mail works, it could have been waiting for me for a few days, so it probably was delivered a few days before.
- In Venezuela you don't pay customs for anything that is valued below USD$ 100.
- It was sent through Royal Mail

I suspect it was actually sent out arround the time that the invoice came (despite the later "update").

Editing a post in this forum is pretty troublesome.

Either way I made a mistake:
- July 19th: Your order has been received

Supposed to be:
- July 19th: Your order has been sent

Either way when I get home from work and check out the package I'll let you guys knows when It was really sent

Yea the package email as correct. They shipped it on the 19th. This is a reference for others ordering from LatinAmerica+Farnell

Hi fellas:

I am also in Venezuela... Did you order your raspberry pi through some specific postal-box service or did you just supply your home address information through farnell?

First of all, congratulations, why I say that ? Becouse after waiting for months finally you got your PI and I supost that's a great sensation. Mine's arrives next week (Normally) I live in New Caledonia and I'll be only the 2nd person to have one Raspberry pi. I'm very excited with the idea to show it in my university.

But, I have exactly the same question that oberdada, Farnell send my order with UPS, but here in NC this company does not "exist". So I don't know how they will send my PI when it's arrives in NC.
Thanks in advance. :D
Whant to see MySQL, nginx in action on the Raspberry pi ? Check my site: www.pirepository.com

Be patient, they usually uses a local partner to delivery the parcels..
