/boot is on two partitions

Wed Feb 03, 2016 4:22 pm

I noticed when preparing my sd-card via an image mounted on my linux loop back device that /boot already exists in partition 2 (root partition) with what looks identical to whats in partition 1. The /boot on the root partiion gets hidden* when the the first partiion is mounted over it.

* of course you can use mount -bind to uncover it

I just wondered if there is a reason for this.

That's due to an error while creating the last image. Shouldn't happen on the next one. It's safe to delete the extra set of files.
