Logitech W360 Keyboard

Fri Jan 22, 2016 6:04 pm

My Logitech K360 keyboard has 4 designated symbols assigned to one key. Connected to Windows 10 I have access to the Backslash \ and Pipe | symbols needed for typing Linux code but on my Raspberry Pi I can ony access the Hashtag # and Tilde ~ symbols. I'm aware of the work-around using the Alt+ keypad combinations, but this isn't very parcticle and I would like to Change my Keyboard Layout is raspi-config. My problelm is the Logitech K360 Cordless Desktop isn't an option and I'm unable to find a workable substiute. If I choose the wrong keyboard it nolonger works properly and I have to reinstall the OS. Any help would be appreciated. Peter

I don't really have any idea which keyboard layout will work, however you might want to try logging in to the Pi via ssh from another computer. You can then run raspi-config via ssh just as you would from a connected keyboard, and try out various configurations to see what works.

Assuming US keyboard:
Unless your exact keyboard is in the list then choose one of the generic 104 105 etc. Not that important which one you use.
The next 2 menus are important. Scroll down to bottom of list and choose [OTHER] then choose English (US). Then on the next screen scroll up to top and choose English (US). DO NOT choose any other keyboards Dvorak etc...... unless you know exactly what you are choosing.
Finish the other screens with defaults.
Reboot is required.
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated RPiOS Buster w/ Desktop OS.
