Pi Zero won't turn on

Mon Dec 28, 2015 3:13 pm

So, I got a Raspberry Pi Zero for Christmas with the required adapters, I put NOOBS onto the SD card like instructed in the MagPi magazine and inserted it into the Pi Zero and it didn't have enough available space despite being 4Gb in size. I moved the SD card back to my PC and formatted it so it allows me full access to all memory inside it and reinserted into the Pi Zero, but when I tried to turn it back on by plugging in the power nothing happened, no led for power, nothing. But my monitor let me switch to the input it was plugged into and stated it had no signal, my monitor won't switch HDMI inputs with out the device having some power going through it, I'm thinking maybe the usb hub I'm using draws to much power so I unplugged it and tried again but had the same results... Any thoughts on fixing this would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

So I've got it turning on now but every time I turn it on it creates partitions on my ad card no matter how much I format it...

That's what NOOBS does.

Why don't you try a normal install of raspbian without NOOBS?

the uncompressed raspbian image is about 4GB. So I would use at least an 8GB SD.
