Add / Remove Software (pi-packages): Only Native Packages

In Add / Remove Software (pi-packages/PiPackages 0.1.0), what does "Only Native Packages" under Options-menu mean?

I have installed packages from Ubuntu, but they are listed independent of the check-mark at Only Native Packages.

Where is the source code to pi-packages on GitHub?
