Arch-Linux 7" Official Raspberry Pi Touchscreen

Hello. This is my first post and I'm relatively nooby with the Raspberry Pi and Linux as an operating system so please bear with me. I was wondering if the official 7" Touchscreen released by the Raspberry Pi Foundation will work on Arch-Linux. As far as I've seen every vendor of the touchscreen says you need to use Raspbian , but I was wondering if there are any drivers that I'm able to download to get it working under Arch. I haven't bought the touchscreen yet, so the answer to this question will decide if I do. Thank You!

Update the firmware and the display itself should just work.
To get the touchscreen to work have a read of https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/1147 as you're likely to need to build an updated kernel.

I've been using it with arch linux on my Pi 2.

It works out of the box, except multitouch. I don't bother, as i hardly fire up an xserver anyway.

I'm having issues with the screen displaying anything on arch. Its fine during boot but once it gets to the login prompt my screen goes blank.
