Capturing Data with Pi & saving to a Webpage

Wed Dec 02, 2015 4:03 pm

Hello,

I am looking for some assistance with a project I have in mind. The project would involve capturing data from a digital caliper and then logging the data to a web server. The way I would like to set it up is to have the Raspberry Pi send the data as JSON over HTTP to a web server. The interval at which the Pi checks the incoming data will most likely be once daily, but it could be as frequently as once every fifteen minutes - probably not more often than that. I'd also like the Pi to connect to the web server wirelessly OR with an ethernet cable.

Some background:
I am new to this site, and have not purchased a Pi yet; I would like to use a Zero for this project. My son is a web developer, so he'll be helping me out once the data has been captured.

Thanks in advance for assistance you may be able to provide.
