ssh problems

Tue Dec 01, 2015 7:17 pm

I am having a problem with ssh

I am using the git bash on windows to ssh into my pi with Jessie on it.

It has only started happening in the last few days, before that it worked without issue.

My first attempts are met with a bad file error, until it finally works.

I log in finally, but after a while it gives me the error "connection reset by peer"

Thanks again for any help.

can you bisect the problem:
ssh into another host from your PC, does the problem persist?
ssh into your Pi from another computer, does the problem persist?

That might quickly locate which computer seems to have started misbehaving....

Failing that, anything interesting in the logs? dmesg?

If you don't have any other computers to try, you could download "putty" for the Windows PC. It's free and a well-regarded ssh client.

I have been using ssh with other computers without any problems. I will get putty and try that way though. The problem didn't start until after I updated to Jessie...and even then it wasnt right away. Thank again...I will report back when I have something to report.
