I've been building xastir reliably on Wheezy, but Jessie barfs. I build using this script:

...made executable. All requirements are successfully downloaded and installed and all runs smoothly until the configure process fails to find WriteImage in GraphicsMagick. This locks out raster maps and thus online maps.
I must be on the "bleeding edge" here: the discussion group at xastir@lists.xastir.org, usually quite forthcoming, seem to be stymied too. Anyone up for a tryout?
