Can You Remove or Lock Features in Raspbian?

Sat Nov 28, 2015 9:20 pm

Hi,

I am working on project where I need to create a mini-PC, but that has very limited features.

It'll be used for party game, where my co-workers act as James Bond spies. They find this mini-PC (i.e. Raspberry Pi + LCD screen + USB port + mouse), and they also find a USB jump drive that has a secret message. I want to prevent the co-workers from clicking on things in the OS that would mess the activity up. It would be idea if the only thing the user could click on was the USB folder (when the USB jump drive is attached) and watch the video (mp4).

Is this possible in one of the Raspbian OS? Or is there another OS that would work better? Thanks!

Using a RP model B v 1.0

Look into 'kiosk mode'

Failing that I would recommend WinIOT.
That's pre-configured to remove virtually all functionality and a much better platform for limiting what users can do.

Return to “Raspberry Pi OS”
