BB-8 with Raspberry Pi B2

Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:57 pm

Hello! I'm a little noob at progamming and robotics, but I got a pretty curious and fun project for Star Wars lovers: a BB-8 droid from STAR WARS: the force awakens It will be made with a Raspberry Pi B2, an Adafruit Motor HAT, a Bluetooth dongle, [/color]a Wi-Fi dongle and some motors! It will be controlled via bluetooth and have a battery of 1100/2200 mAh. Submit some ideas and let's start crafting!

This BB8 build has all the control within the floating hat, the main body itself is just a sphere.

This make magazine BB8 build is pretty well documented.

Thanks! I´ll use some inspiration for the droid. I also found the Sphero version from which mechanics I´ll part (obviously it will be larger). I´m leaving a photo so you can get an idea. 8-)

James Burton is also working on a second, more complex, version.
