Full, cant delete

Sun Nov 22, 2015 12:00 am

I am very new to Raspberry Pi and whatnot, so I appologize if this is been asked before or if its a simple solution, but I downloaded something to try getting a display to work, and it filled up my Pi. Now, the Pi wont let me delete things because there is not space for it in the wastebasket. How can I get rid of these items in order to free up space again?

Please try to respond in laymen's terms as I am verrrry new to coding and computer stuff.

thanks.

Not sure what program you're using, but things like filemanagers often have delete which bypasses the trashcan, often SHIFT-DELETE (i.e. select file, hold down the shift key, press DELETE).

Failing that, open a terminal and delete the files from the commandline. There's an introduction to the commandline on the PiMag site, should have all the details you need.
