How do I get a boot splash

I want a boot splash for my raspberry Pi I tried the splash with fbi program but it is very late in the boot when the picture comes up.
I want a boot splash just as INIT is being executed.

RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot)..
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

I tried that but it takes ages for splash to come up.
I might try Plymouth Package I think it's pre installed on raspbian.
