[SOLVED] Web browsers not working after power cut

I have problems (on the Raspberry Pi) very rarely, but when I do, they are BIG problems. Like this one. That's why I'm WRITING THIS ON A SMARTPHONE.

This morning (UTC) I turned on my Raspberry Pi B+ and waited for it to boot. Suddenly I realised I hadn't turned the screen on. I turned it on, but because the Raspberry Pi hadn't been able to detect the screen resolution when it turned on, it was set to 480. I panicked, and turned the Raspberry Pi's power off before it had finished booting. I waited a few seconds, and then powered it back on. The screen resolution was ok, but as it was loading the fake hwclock, I noticed it said the time was set in the future, so it changed it back to normal. I logged in, and opened LXDE (startx). Everything worked OK, until I opened the Epiphany Web Browser (I had installed it manually a few months back). None of the pages would load!!!! And the amount of time the Pi was at max. CPU after opening the browser was much less... I tried Midori. Same problem, although the CPU usage was normal. The screenshots (photos ) explain the rest.

An interesting note is that I had to reboot 3 times to get the pages to load at all.

The terminal works (I've tried wget and ping, they both work).

The Pi Store works as well, so it seems as if only the Web Browsers have a problem...
Does anybody know how to fix this, or do I have to reinstall Raspbian? I use the Raspberry Pi as my main computer (Edit 11/03/2016: Not anymore. I have given up on worrying about Windows Updates, and when any (inevitably ) come my way, I just quickly install them, before I have time to worry about what could go wrong. I am never gonna get round to switching that laptop to Linux. I like using both Lin. and Win., so I think I should really just leave it as it is.), and really need to find a solution to this problem.

I was thinking about that too. I've been trying to find another microsd card for weeks now. I really want to try Jessie, but don't want to lose all the customisations/files I have on the current OS. I also want to make a web server, and since the Wheezy I have now can still do that, maybe I should copy all my files from it onto a USB stick and use the Wheezy as a web server, and use a Pi 2 with Jessie as my main computer. (Although there may be a few security risks involved with using Wheezy as a web server). Thanks! You've inspired me. .

After working out a way to backup my files, and creating a corrupted un-deleteable folder on my external hard drive in doing so, I finally installed Raspbian Jessie from NOOBS. I didn't even have to wipe my sd card! I just accessed NOOBS from the Recovery Mode function, and (since I had Ethernet plugged in) Raspbian Jessie appeared in the list of OSes. After what felt like about 45 minutes downloading it, it installed! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! (party).

Sorry about... You know. I just saw someone embarrassed/sad and wanted to cheer them up. It got a bit out of hand. No offence?/No harm done? (couldn't decide which to put and meant both)
Nervous laugh, backs out of room
EDIT: I read their other posts. I see what you mean, but I don't know if it's deliberate...

Its irrelevant as due to various responses short term, permanent bans and warnings have been issued according to:

viewtopic.php?f=63&t=148574&p=977708#p977708

......there was another response somewhere from a Moderator unable to find.

So bottom line is to report not judge....
