Trouble with Jessie download

Fri Nov 06, 2015 11:05 pm

For the past two days I've been trying unsuccessfully to download the Jessie.zip file from the Raspberry Pi organization's Downloads web page. The download either stalls (for example, presently at 395MB) or appears to complete, but then won't open. If it matters, I'm trying to download to a MacBook and have tried both Safari and Firefox browsers. Help, please.

Run a sha1sum against your download, see if it's complete.

Use 7zip to unzip it, because that's known to work.

As a friend with a faster downstream link to download it for you (and stuff it on an SDCard or stuff the zip file on a USB stick).

Thank you, Dougie, for your suggestions. After six attempts, I finally got what appeared to be a usable download and ran shasum to verify it was complete. It opened fine with Unarchiver (I'm using a Mac) and I'll soon attempt to install it. Thanks again for your help.
