Question about new Element 14 customisation service

Tue Oct 27, 2015 5:19 pm

Will customers of the new customisation service be prevented from releasing a custom board based on the Pi and calling it a Raspberry Pi? The reason I ask is that I would expect that if they were allowed to do this, it would lead to confusion in the minds of Raspberry Pi customers and potential customers. Hence I expect that this will be prohibited.

Yes already a discussion:

Anyway it will cost more than a RPi because of the extra manufacturing costs so would not be viable to complete on price, unless they wanted to manufacture millions not thousands, in the above linked thread is the Announcement Video ;)
Rather than negativity think outside the box !
