Connection

I built a custom weather proof box to be used as a camera for my automation systems door station. Is the ribbon connector robust or prone to corrosion? I need to get a longer length and it will be fished thru bricks. Is the ribbon fine or should i get the hdmi cable? I'd image the hdmi is more robust for this application. Any other options to solve this issue?

Are you talking about the camera or screen? There is no HDMI option for the camera.
If you running the camera ribbon through brick than I would cover with heat shrink tubing.

Yes. They sell the 15 pin ribbon connector to hdmi coupler/adapter kit. U connect the camera or I guess any video input for that matter via hdmi - I have shrink tubing but don't know how much heat the ribbon can take. I fear it is fragile. If you would like I'll post a link to the camera input to hdmi converter kit if you like. Same site has a bunch of other interesting and cool stuff
