Rpi900 - working on Raspian

Thu Oct 22, 2015 2:37 pm

Just in case anyone else has an Rpi900 http://www.rpi900.com

I've hacked the packages to work under Raspian, the supplied packages were for Arch which was not for me.

I get a sustained 143 kB/s (using FTP) over a ppp link on the bench, next step is some weatherproof packaging and range test. Impressed so far.

I'll do a HOWTO at some point if anyone else is interested, once I've tidied up my ugly hacks.

Cheers,

Bob

Ooops, my bad, ppp_deflate was being overly helpful as my test file was from /dev/zero

A proper test only gave 11.3kB/s and the limiting factor was the UART speed, time to crank that up.

Fixed - serial port now runs at 460800 :-)

Transferring a 'real world' file over the ppp link with FTP now gives this :-
10485760 bytes sent in 412.62 secs (24.8 kB/s)

Probably as good as I'm going to get, although there are a ton of options to tweak the way the radio link operates.

Hi

Im interested in running the RPi900 in Raspbian OS and could you give me the packages and their subsequent installation
codes.

What differences are there in installing them in Raspbian OS and Arch Linux Arm.
