How do I setup RDP and Serial Port for WIndows 10 IOC

My boss wants me to setup a Raspberry Pi (RP 2, Model B) with Windows 10 IoC Core. He wants the ability to RDP into the Pi, and be able for it to read from a USB to Serial Port.

However, I can seem to find documentation or evidence that ether of these are possible. Is there a way to do this, and if not I can to find information that it isn't currently possible from a credible source to tell my Boss that.

Does your boss have a credible source stating that RDP to the Pi running the IOT build is possible?
If you search the forums here you'll see several threads that try and explain that the Win10 IOT build for the Pi is not the desktop version of Windows 10.

So why the insistence on RDP? It so happens that RDP is about the only protocol not supported by IoT on the Pi. If you just want to get the data locally and view it remotely there are plenty of ways to achieve that. Choose one of those.

Your boss should also understand that that particular view is very biased towards Linux. The situation for those who are Windows programmers is very much better than described there.

OP's boss doesn't know that. It's not at all biased.

But to go back to the OP, that doesn't change the fact that you cannot RDP to the Win 10 IOT build on the Pi. Even if you could, what would you expect to do once connected ?
If you want to RDP to a Win 10 desktop, you need a Win 10 desktop OS, not the IOT build.

As an aside, if you've ever had to deal with Microsoft licensing on remote desktops, you'll soon find that some of the biggest challenges aren't technical.
