Netsurf Framebuffer

Mon Jul 23, 2012 9:31 am

Hi,

anybody tried Netsurf framebuffer (netsurf-fb package)? I am unable to get it working, after start I see only blank screen. Also links2 -g does not start correctly, just there is distorted graphic, no blank screen. Other fb (SDL based) applications works well - fuse-sdl, openttd, scummvm. Any advices?

Thanks,

Tomas.

Seems to use a 32bpp mode, and not set the alpha the way we want it. Try:
framebuffer_ignore_alpha=1
in config.txt

Tried this as recommended, but unsuccessfull :-(
Still the same blank screen as without this option, no change at all for Netsurf.

can you cat /boot/config.txt from the pi and report output?
The line suggested fixed(*) it for me

(*) looks like there is an RGB->BRG issue on the colours.

It didn't work for me even with framebuffer_ignore_alpha=1 (i only have overscan disabled in config file and some overclock options). I had black screen and nothing more. It started workin however, when i used "-b 16" option to run it, which changes BPP to 16. There are some problems like I don't see cursor in text inputs (maybe it's a BPP issue?) and I don't even (yet) know how to quit this thing but other than that, rendering and scrolling speed is quite impressive (at 1024x768).

I'm still intrested what does "not set the alpha the way we want it" means and why isn't it working in 24 bit. Maybe it's worth investigating. Dom?

Hi

I have the same problem with links2 and framebuffer.

could you precise what are you meaning for "-b 16". "-b" is not an option for links2 ?
