I'm getting a little frustrated here... My Pi will always lock up after some time on (more or less) high load and network traffic. I tried some tricks, but couldn't get rid of the problem. After having it running for a few weeks it now got worse than ever.
I'm running the original squeeze setup with all the recent updates. Beside that I'm running a sabnzbd that will cause the Pi to lock up. I had it running the pre-release version of Raspbian before but that always has been worse. Well, until now it has.
I run sabnzbd both with a high niceness and also "cpulimit"ed to 75% which usually helps. I also turned down the number of NNTP server connections to 3, but still, after running some time, it will just lock up.
Voltage is good (I think), I just checked the input voltage which reads 5.002V idle and around 4.87V on load. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope to check the quality of the PSU.
The harddrive I use is connected via an external USB hub and is also has the swap partition on it. I've connected a 100Mbit ethernet hub and the TV via HDMI (which is off most of the time); powered USB hub for the harddrive and USB PSU for the Pi itself.
SD Card is a Samsung 8GB SDHC Class 10 MB-MP8GA, Pi board is a BH1218. I've set the split to 224 MB RAM.
This is my dmesg: http://pastebin.com/E5FAALG2 and this is other information that might be useful: http://pastebin.com/fAsDEBMN
I have a similar Pi at my disposal, only difference is the slightly different SMSC serial number. Same issues there.
While running, I get a load average of ~ 0.1-0.2 with CPU loads around 85% (running htop in a ssh session at the same time) and 110 MB RAM used (the rest is buffers).
I do have the impression that the problem might be with the ethernet/network connection as I think I've managed to get it to lock up when running sabnzbd with more concurrent connections or copying data via afpd at the same time sabnzbd is running.
Well, I'm out of ideas here, so any help is much appreciated!
