HDMI video and AV audio

I run Kodi with OpenElec on my Pi model B. Music library on USB memory stick and controlled by Yatse on my tablet via WiFi. Use AV to connect audio to stereo and video to TV when occassionally required. Very happy with this.
However I have recently been tracking down the cause of a hum in the stereo and found caused by AV video connection to TV. Some sort of ground loop I imagine. I can overcome by disconnecting AV to TV (mostly run headless with Yatse) but I thought a permanent solution might be to use HDMI for video (which may stop the hum) to TV and retain AV connection to stereo.
Is this possible?
If so how can I set it up?

Why not use HDMi for both Video and Audio :?:

Though yes on a B+ and later you can just use a standard audio cable from the 4TRRS Composite / Audio Port ;)

Thank you for response

I want HDMI to video (use as monitor occassionally) and audio via AV/RCA plugs to stereo (the main reason for Kodi).

I thought using a HDMI cable would default audio to HDMI also, however I have now found info in intro files on how to edit config file which should enable me to do what I want. I will experiment with this when I have time. I have looked at intro files before when I originally set up system but do not recall seeing all the detail about audio

I have found info re changing output from AV to HDMI but experienced a lot of trouble getting HDMI video until I found that OpenElec Kodi will not output via HDMI no matter what I do in config.txt file. It will not shift from outputting via AV. BUT Raspian does output via HDMI in normal manner?
Hope to get some help from OpenElec forum but so far they talk about hdmi_force_hotplug=1 which I have already activated to get Raspian via HDMI
Confused why 2 op systems (OpenElec and Raspbian) output AV and HDMI respectively from the same Raspberry Pi?

I am still in trouble with not being able to output OpenElec / Kodi V 14.2 via HDMI although Raspbian works fine via HDMI, all from my Raspberry Pi model B
I have edited the config.txt file via NOOBS and have only the following active (no hash)
Hdmi_safe=1
Config_hdmi_boost=4
Hdmi_force_hotplug=1

Also the NOOBS auto generated entries I have hashed out
#hdmi_ignore_hotplug=1
#sdtv_mode=2

I have run via Raspbian terminal the following commands and get:

Tvservice –s
State 0x120016 [DVI DMT (4) RGB full 4:3], 640x480 @ 60Hz, progressive

Tvservice –m CEA
Group CEA has 15 modes
Mode 1: 600x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25MHz progressive
Then lists modes 2,3,4,5,6,7,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,31 with corresponding screen resolutions etc

Tvservice –m DMT
Group DMT has 8 modes:
(prefer) mode 4: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock: 25MHz progressive
Then lists modes 6,9,11,16,17,18,82 with corresponding resolutions etc

Can anyone assist me with this info re how to output OpenElec Kodi via HDMI?

PROBLEM SOLVED

Looked at

Which explains how to install an OpenElec add on to easily edit config file

Installed this and changed video output to HDMI and all is well

Changed audio to AV in ordinary Kodi system screen and now have Kodi audio on AV and video via HDMI

Ground loop hum still there though!
