Hello,
I have ordered a RasPi 2 Model B+ (the newest one) from MCM (back in 3/15). I have used it today and to me, the motherboard smells like it is burnt (or something got fried). I have used the power supply that was provided for me as well. Would anyone be able to assist me on this issue?

Components are fixed to the PCB with solder - which requires heat!

Some of the boards do have a "burnt" small to them. This is a result of the soldering process. It is normal.
Your Pi works, therefore there isn't a problem.
