Abrubt and lasting No Signal - HDMI -> DVI

Fri Jul 20, 2012 5:09 pm

Hello,

i've used the Debian Wheezy Beta and a ARM/Raspi Puppy an it works great with my monitor (HDMI via Male HDMI, Femail DVI adapter). Each on its own SD Card.

Yesterday i updated the Wheezy to the Raspian Image and my Monitor says "no signal".
I've tried the Puppy image, it does not work too. When i put the RasPi on the Video Out, it works well.

I tried various config.txt settings. No config.txt, empty config.txt, with save on, with force hdmi, with forced resolution, with boost. Nothing works.

At an other Monitor with the same adapter, it works.

I have no idea, what problem it could be. RasPi works, Monitor works, adapter works, image on sd works, cable works...

Any suggestions?

You could try the start.elf from the working wheezy beta image, and copy it onto the Raspbian image, and see if that works.
If you dump your EDID:
/opt/vc/bin/tvservice -d edid.dat
and attach it to your message (zipped up) it might shed some light on what's happening.

You might try checking the TP1-TP2 voltage. On my RasPi, my NEC DVI-D monitor works with TP1-TP2 down to 4.65V, but below that first I get green dots and then it blanks out. I also have a cheap "HDMI Switcher" between RasPi and the monitor.
