On my Squeeze distro I was using xfce4. I installed it along with slim and then removed both slim & lxde and continued with xfce. I have installed xfce4 on my Raspbian distro, and startx xfce4 tries to load it and then drops me back out to the CLI with
using system config directory "/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d"
/usr/bin/xterm: no absolute path found for shell: xfce4
I can select and use xfce using F1 in Slim's login screen. I don't want to boot up directly into the DE though, so I have removed Slim again but now I am back to getting the same error when trying to startx xfce4. Can someone tell me what to do, please?
Many thanks
