Failed to load kernel module?

Sat Aug 15, 2015 11:31 pm

I am trying to update the image on nooks. But everytime I try to update the os. I restart it and get "failed to load kernel module" and can't do anything on arch. Is there someone who has done successfully that can help?

It would help if you could specify which hardware you are trying to update archlinuxarm on, and where you obtained the "image". Also, what does "cat /proc/version" show?

ArchLinuxArm for the Raspberry Pi no longer is installed with images, but rather with a tarball.

Or do you mean you are running pacman -Syu and it is not working? The exact command(s) you entered and the output would be helpful.

I trying to update the nooks image on the raspberry pi. It boots successfully on the first time. When I do a pacman - S, I get that error after I do a reboot and non of my peripherals work. So I can't ssh or use my keyboard or mouse.

Googling around, I see some people are using their Nooks as screens for their raspberry pi's, is that what you are talking about?

Which model of raspberry pi do you have? I do not understand you saying you want to "update the nook image," you can update your archlinuxarm OS. There are a lot of pages around the web talking about how people have use Nooks as Pi screens, have you been able to use your Nook as a screen at all, or is this something new?

If you are having trouble ssh'ing in, it could be because ssh login as root with a password is no longer permitted, read the new post by Pepedog about that.
