additional lid for raspberry pi 2 case

Wed Aug 12, 2015 8:59 am

Hi all,

I have just received my official raspberry pi 2 case and I was wondering if there are any alternative lids for these case. I'm going to use my pi as a media center and need access to the gpio's. The pi will be placed behind my tv and I don't want to let the case open, lots of dust and stuff. In my previous case i drilled a hole for the cables, but this new case is just to beautiful to drill holes in :d

Does anybody know if you can order lids who have holes for gpio in it?

Thank you.

Kind regards

Leave the side off next to the GPIO pins. Alternatively, get out a Dremel and cut a slot where you need it.

^ This

The side next to the GPIO pins was designed with enough clearance to fit a standard 40-way ribbon cable connector, if necessary. If your requirements are such that you need wires coming out the top, then by all means take your Pi case to a pillar drill.

So the answer is NO, NEVER!! Stop asking!!! Mod it with a sledgehammer and chainsaw if you want. But then it'll be an unofficial case and won't be supported by The Foundation.

Dremel worked for me.
