A problem with regards to space?

Thu Aug 06, 2015 8:49 am

Hey all,

I know a lot of people ask about problems with space and I've spent a few days looking at these questions and responses to no avail as most of these users are using Wheezy and I'm currently using NOOBs.

Basically I have a 4GB SD card with noobs loaded onto it and some other low sized programs for my internal webserver. However when I run the command:

Code: Select all

df -Bm
I get this:
http://tinypic.com/r/ajt6o6/8
Which is telling me I only have 60MB available I think?

Basically, I'm just wondering where the rest of my space has gone (this may just be me missing something which would be most likely) and is there any way to delete unnecessary files to free this up?

I have already ran

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get clean
and

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get autoclean
which has removed everything from my archives but this doesn't seem to be the problem.

Any help will be massively appreciated.

Many thanks,
Brad

noobs has a 8xxMB ( vfat / DOS ) partition ( "recovery" ) what contains the noobs boot and the original Raspbian image ( what you could reinstall after boot [shift].. )
this you not see with "df -h" because it is not mounted, try "mount"

as you work with 4GB SD card better just burn a pure Raspbian ( non noobs )

Return to “Beginners”
