getting Octopi sartet

Sun Aug 02, 2015 9:26 am

hello

I finished my 3D Printer and now I want to setup Octopi on my Raspberry Pi.
I wrote the Image on the SD Card and entered my Wlan SSID and Password.

but what do I need to type in the URL to find my Octopi
And while booting it wants I login and Password from me

what is it?

So I think login is pi but the default password "raspberry" doesn't work.

Hope you can help me installing everything:
I'm completely new in doing something with my Pi so don't go to hard with me

By the way I come from Germany so I do not understand the perfect IT English

Thank you

So now it doesn't come so far anymore
it just stops at a failure code

hello thinker98,
pls. do i understand correctly that the question is about
setup from SD, install raspbian OK
reboot OK
login:
pi
raspberry
here is the problem that RPI thinks the password is wrong?
possibly with using a german keyboard must type
raspberrz

there is also a german forum section here viewforum.php?f=75
and also in germany is a good forum http://www.forum-raspberrypi.de/

so ok

if I write "login" after failure code
I can log it in
it works now thank you

But then it is done
nothing else happens
And I still have no Idea what IP I need to connect my Laptop via Firefox to Octopi
to actually upload my files

And I think normally it should just boot without anything
and after a few seconds I could connect it and done

and normally do not need a screen or Keyboard

Can't I just pre set everything on the SD card so it works out after booting
without doing anything on the pi itself?

can you post the failure code so any OCTOPI experts could help?
see https://github.com/guysoft/OctoPi
did you do "sudo raspi-config" already?

When I entered my SSID and password I just changed it in a textfile
not with my terminal

here is the code:

"failed (code 8)
[FAIL] File system check failed. A log is being saved in /var/log/fsck/checkfs if that location is writable. Please repair the file system manually. ... failed!
[warn] A maintenance shell will now be started. CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and resume system boot. ... (warning).
sulogin: root account is locked, starting shell"

but I can skip it if I just write login
and then go on

but on other Ocotpi I saw they just powered it and everything was done
they didn't had to type in anything

-a- file system fail:
i would try a new SD
if you have a windows PC with cardreader pls use SDFormatter V4.0 program only!
if you reformat the old SD pls use Format Type FULL Overwrite, Format Size adjustment ON
to check if the SD is ok
-b- what is the system you downloaded?
2015-07-02_2015-05-05-octopi-wheezy-0.12.0.zip
after unzip:
-c- edit octopi-network.txt
may i ask what editor you used to change that file?

-d-

login via putty SSH after you find the IP ( by router status dhcp lease ..or ip scanner software )

I still have the failure code
after doing a full overwrite

can I fix this
cause in the failure it says I could fix it manually

sorry, no idea

but i can confirm that
- download 2015-07-02_2015-05-05-octopi-wheezy-0.12.0.zip
- unzip: get 2015-05-05-octopi-wheezy-0.12.0.img
- win32diskimager 2015-05-05-octopi-wheezy-0.12.0.img to 8GB SD card
(+) edit octopi-network.txt
- boot in RPI
(+) on HDMI it boot direct to raspi-config screen ( no error )
(+) connect ethernet cable ( to IP from router info )
( or fix IP in octopi-network.txt

Code: Select all

auto eth0:1
iface eth0:1 inet static
  address 192.168.1.101
)
windows + putty SSH login pi@192.168.1.101 pw raspberry .. works also
pls do sudo raspi-config to expand filesystem first.

the text in octopi-network.txt: browser by going to http://192.168.250.1 ?? i not understand, but
browser http://192.168.1.101 worked ( very slow ) popup login config screen.

so, as i had no error ... HDMI boot
and ethernet cable to router works for SSH and even webserver,
i have no idea what's wrong with your system.

still see the options / wrong image / bad SD / bad octopi-network.txt change/
