Raspbian install

Wed Jul 18, 2012 8:08 pm

Using win32 disk imager as per the instructions to install the lastest version of raspbian.
Installer confirms that the image is written but when the card is inserted into the pi and turned on absolutely NOTHING happens.
Have tried 2 different cards, same result.

Have installed rpi pisces from the raspbian page, install confirms and the pi does start up when i power it, but the login (user: pi, Pw: raspberry) is flagged as incorrect.

Really trying to get this latest raspbian to run, can anyone help?

Actually... what the problem is, is that this new raspbian doesn't seem to want to use my hdmi cable.
What's up with that?

I found that if I had the Monitor with the RPi connected to one of the video inputs and something else to another video input to the monitor nothing would appear on the monitor. I then disconnected the other connection and just left the RPi connected via HDMI -DVI cable things seemed to work but I don't know why
