I broke LXTerminal

Sun Jul 12, 2015 4:10 pm

The border is gone, the titlebar is gone, the text has gone "rainbow", and it's really, really slow to accept keystrokes.
Don't know what I did, it was fine last time I used it, but when I started it today it looked like this.

Everything else works fine: Leafpad, Xterm, FileManager, etc. The only problem is with the LXTerminal window. The title bar is still there, you just can't see it. So if I hover the mouse over where the "X" would be and click the window closes, or I can "grab" the space where the title bar would be I can move the window around. I have an extra panel to the right of the scroll bar, and the text seems to be composed of random colors now.

I've checked all the conf files I know of and everything looks fine. I can SSH in and that screen is normal, and Xterm is normal but I prefer LXTerminal over Xterm.
Anyone know how I can reset defaults or something? Or can it be uninstalled then reinstalled?

The screenshot looks suspiciously like a mismatch between 32 bits per pixel and 24 bits packed.

Have you by any chance changed framebuffer_depth in config.txt?

No I didn't, or not intentionally anyway. After numerous google sessions over a few days I couldn't find anything related, or even similar, so no help finding an answer there.

Having exhausted all the possible fixes I could come up with myself I finally gave up and just copied a backup image onto the SD card. It was quicker to bring the backup image up to date than to continue trying to find the problem, so I still don't know what caused it.

Thanks for your reply.
