multiroom stream client

Hello

I would like to set up an audio multiroom system in 5 jones.
It must:
- be able play the same music everywhere or different music in each zone
- be easy to use for non linux users
- only provide «network speakers». No music collection/NAS, every tune must be provided by the users.

I was thinking of :
- one rpi per room
- one shairplay per rpi for airplay compatibility
- one gmrender per rpi for upnp/dlna compatibility
- pulseaudio to let a «master» shairplay/gmrender played everywhere
- provide a web interface to switch from master : played everywhere, to each room use its own shairplay/gmrender

What's your opinion about it? Would this make a good installation?
Alternativaly I read can replace shairplay + gmrender par Kodi but kodi is doing much more than what i want. Does it worth it?

My usual reply to this sort of thing is to look at systems that make use of LMS (Logitech Media Server).
With the addition of Shareplay it can do all that you asked plus has thousands of internet radio stations in its automatically updated database - and can show cover art, sometimes lyrics and reviews on devices with screens.
Controllable via web, API and phone clients.
