Bluetooth dongle for keyboard

Thu Jul 09, 2015 7:32 am

Hi guys,

Well...the code for the external HD did work...somewhat. (I screwed up a sd card again! Need to have that formatted...but I'll make a new topic for that question)
I got access but now and then also the rainbow squire in the upper right corner that's letting me know the Pi2 is a bit under powered. Better to use an older portable harddrive with an external power supply.

But that's not what I need this time.
I want to make a nice small bundle I can carry around with me when I go out of the house (my holiday is comming up in a few weeks time  ). I already have a small notebook mouse but not a small keyboard. At least not wireless.
I do have a small bluetooth keyboard but no dongle for that.
That's were you guys come in: Can I buy a normal bluetooth v4.0 dongle...plug it in the Pi2 and connect the bluetooth keyboard to it? I have OpenElec with Kodi running on my Pi2.

Hope my question is clear and you can help me out.

With kind regards,
Mike Wellink

Yes, if it's a Bluetooth keyboard (not RF wireless), you can use any Pi-compatible Bluetooth dongle. I don't have any experience with Bluetooth keyboards and OpenElec, however.
