Text off screen

Wed Jul 01, 2015 12:09 pm

I am having problems connecting to internet but having difficulty in that the first couple of places in the command lines are off screen to the left.
I have connected to both a digital TV and old analogue but still have same problem of not being able to see first couple of letters in every line of code
How can I right shift code?

Hold [SHIFT] during boot.

Remove ALL of the overscan parms from config.txt using the NOOBS recovery system config editor.

Thanks for reply Dougie

I cannot get into NOOBS. Same problem I had last week. Downloaded new version NOOBS and started set up from scratch. Worked OK for a while, even had dual boot Raspian and Openelec but didn't last long.
Holding shift simply stops boot up. Pressing Esc key starts bootup again into terminal/log in. ESC again then boots to Raspian. Left to own devices Pi boots directly into Openelec?
Saw on forum suggestion to edit boot up code by adding Trigger code to force response to hold shift key on start with my previous NOOBS but made no difference
Can you suggest how I can access NOOBS?

Have been trying to get Yatse to work with Kodi but some fundamental problem with WiFi. Have set up static IP address for eth and wlan but wlan not working. Something to do with static IP. Shows correct address 10.1.1.200 in ifconfig but different address in /network/interfaces? This is why I need to fix screen text problem to check each line of code is correct

Sorry mistake in my reply
To get into Raspian I start the GUI by typing in terminal 'startx'

Return to “Beginners”
