[Raspberry Pi B] SD Card Issue or unit issue?

Sun Jun 28, 2015 4:53 pm

So, I had 2 kingston SDHC 16 gb cards. They used to work fine on my raspberry pi B until there were a few power outages. When I used them on my computer or video camera they work perfectly fine. But whenever I try to re-install Noobs 1.4.1 on them for my Raspberry pi B, I get these errors seen here.

Is the card somehow corrupt or is it the Raspberry Pi? if the card is corrupt, why does it still format and function properly? Is this version of noobs incorrect for the B?

I've also tried a different power supply from my Rasp Pi 2 (2000 ma). And I was able to install the OS and get into the setup window. This was the error I got After I used a diffferent power supply.

Try using a different computer and a different brand of SD card. Try to eliminate all the variables, so that whatever is left, however improbable must be the solution.
There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't.

What happens if you format them in your camera rather than the (other) computer before writing NOOBS onto them?
(For some cards - possibly ones "close to permanent failure" - this appears to have been the "final working solution" for other forum posters).
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, 2xB2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, and a A+) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Today, I formatted the card again, was able to get the OS installed and running.

10 minutes later while idling, the screen just went blank. restarted the Pi B and the last command on the screen I got was this:

[80.713705] random: nonblocking pool is initalized

I see others such as:

No filesystem could mount root, tried ext4
