Connecting Pi to a Skylander/DisneyInfinity Kiosk Monitor?

Thu Jun 11, 2015 5:45 am

My apologies if this is not in the right forum but I was trying to connect my pi to a skylander kiosk, however I found that the monitor wouldn't power on. I am not an electrician or tech expert but after tinkering around with it I was able to get one of the boards inside the device to blink green... but still no power to the monitor. Is there a way to find out if the power switch is bad or even a way to bypass a power switch? At this point everything is all disconnected because I was so frustrated. Overall I want to conver the kiosk to an pi-cade.

It's kind of hard to figure out what's going on.

Is the display connected directly to the first board? if not where is it and what connections are coming from it?

If it is directly connected then you probably need to disconnect and find a display adaptor for the screen as reprogramming that board would be difficult.

does the display supply edid data? if not you'll have to manually force the Pi to a specific display mode either via tvservice or via the force_edid seting in config.txt
