Netflix on Rapi

Sat Jul 14, 2012 4:47 am

First here's what I know: Netflix will not run on Linux normally and porting Androisd isn't practical. Now my idea. Would it be possible to tease the Android Netflix app into running on Rapi? I know some libraries would need copied with it. As of right now I lack a Rapi to experiment with and an insanely tight budget (translation: the wife's death grip on the checkbook when it comes to 'toys', her word not mine) means I won't likely get one soon.

The best bet would be to get a version of Android running on the Pi. But I imagine that even if that happens there'd still be work to do.

I think Netflix is distributed by the Google Play market ?
AFAIK , you need a licence to use the market on your device (i.e. RPi) - for technical and legal reasons.
I do not know what it takes to get a license.
I guess it involves money and being a company.
