Ceremoniously carry it out behind your house and bury it in your back yard. Make the sign of the cross and say, "via con dios". Used NOOBS to set it up and I used Openelec for xbmc/kodi no problem for at least a couple months. Suddenly one day while scrolling through movies it froze then went to a command screen and shut off and didn't turn on after that. I said whatever since I had Kodi on my computer. Months again passed by, downloaded new version of NOOBS, formatted SD card and got it running but unfortunately this version of NOOBS only had Raspbian. So all the waiting I didn't want to do again I said whatever and stopped using it. Now today I decided to give it another go, installed an earlier version of NOOBS (The first one I used actually) V1.3.9 which has everything else on it. But for some reason my rpi just wont start up and I've tried everything and nothing will work. Following everything from here - viewtopic.php?t=58151 and not one thing has worked. Any suggestions? The only thing that happens is the red light turns on but Monitor and TV both have no HDMI signal and I also tried an RCA-Composite cables with nothing as the outcome.
Good idea because that's what I'm about to do. What a waste of moneyMarkHaysHarris777 wrote:Ceremoniously carry it out behind your house and bury it in your back yard. If only the red light comes on (nothing else) then the Pi isn't reading from the SD card, you should see a flickering green LED while it reads the card when you first apply power.dgendreau wrote:Good idea because that's what I'm about to do. The diagnostic test is to try booting with finger and thumb on top and bottom of the RPi, pressing the card towards the contacts. If that works, many have had success with a strategically placed piece of card also inserted with the SD card into the socket.BMS Doug wrote:Some of the older Pi's had an issue with the SD card reader as the open back style doesn't support the back of the card and over time some cards bent outwards away from the contacts.
