USB automount problems

Fri May 08, 2015 3:41 pm

I'm trying to set a Pi 2 up as a Plex server using Minibian. When it all comes together it works well, but the problem I am having is that the usb ntfs 2tb drive (with it's own power supply - not powered from usb) will not automount whatever tutorial or answer I find on the web says. It will mount if I run mount -a after boot.

So I'm wondering if re-formatting the drive as ext4 would help the situation? Will I still be able to load files onto it from the network via samba?

Or are there any ways to get the ntfs formatted drive to automount in Minibian?

Thanks
