Data transfer speeds in a RPI2

Fri May 01, 2015 7:00 pm

question:
what speed capabilities can the Raspberry Pi 2 yield for a connectivity through a network port?

rephrase of the question
assuming I connect a RPI2 to a network storage device, how fast can the read and writes be to the drive?
can 2 or more RPI2 connected to a network storage device yield higher overall speed?

ACTUAL FINAL QUESTION
given a cluster of 4 RPI2s what can is the max read and write speed to the network storage drive?

THANK YOU ALL ;)

The max network speed itself is 100MBit. The rest will depend on your overheads and the drive itself. Theoretical max speed for USB2.0 is 480mbit, so you have 380mbit left. In practice you'll never get that speed.

Locking since it seems like you've already asked this. Stick to that thread.
