Kodi on a raspberry Pi

Thu Apr 30, 2015 12:31 pm

Hi

New to the forum so please treat me gently

I have just installed Kodi onto my pi, as I am wanting to use this as a media centre

Is it possible to install apps into Kodi like Genisis, I stream, Phoenix ? If so does any one have any idea how I can do this

The only app I have on Kodi is U tube, but for some reason I am unable to obtain video playback has any one any ideas what I am doing wrong ?

I have also read that there is a pre installed sad card with mx can / kodi reinstalled on it, I think it is called a pimbc card or something, would this be a better way to put Kodi onto my Pi and would this come with the above apps pre installed ?

Ant help appreciated Thank You

Well KODI can not be installed on the RPi, please can you advise what you have installed:

XBian
OpenElec
OSMC
Raspbian with KODI Software installed
Arch with KODI software installed

So how did you do this ? The most common image to use is OpenElec, but there are alternatives like Raspbmc/OSMC. I have never heard about pimbc that you mention.

If these are standard Kodi add-ons you install them the same way as other add-ons.

I see that some of these requires you to install from .zip file so they are maybe not part of the standard Kodi add-on repository. It would probably be enough to put them on a usb memory stick. You could also transfer them with ssh/scp over network.

Kodi on Raspberry pi is great and works perfectly but i prefer using Kodi on firestick. It is portable and it works perfectly...

Here is a link to install kodi on firestick
